People Supported

Our core purpose is to reflect our Christian ethos by the renewal & transformation of lives.  We provide work placement opportunities for people who find it difficult to access the job market and often fall into poverty, especially those who have struggled with mental health issues, recovering addicts and ex-offenders.  Through work experience in our not-for-profit wood recycling project, we support the development of key life and employment skills.  Alongside training & mentoring, we also offer a money management course.
I like the confidence it gives me. I enjoy the creativity I can express and learn in a laid-back environment.
Great companionship and a non-judgmental approach

Brilliant.  Great improvement in his communication. Loves learning new skills in woodwork. Fantastic! He also looks forward to attending weekly with a passion.
Benefits mum too, as she gets the improved communication for the rest of the week.
Reference provided by his mother.

Non verbal, Local young man. Extreme shyness / no eye contact

I’d lost my way but New Life Wood gave me the opportunity to get back into the fold.

People who come to New Life Wood & persevere do much better after discharge than those who do not or give up.

At NLW, I have made friends and learnt new skills.  Attending weekly is really supporting my recovery journey.

He is a completely different person since he started at NLW.  STAH staff also say the same thing.
